Crime Statistics

Since its incorporation in 2005, the City of Sandy Springs has experienced an overall reduction in crime. Residents and business owners enjoy a sense of safety and accessibility to a dedicated police force. For example, there has been an almost 35% drop in burglaries since becoming a city. The Sandy Springs Police Department offers many classes and opportunities to educate the public on how to better protect themselves and their property.

Criminal Intelligence Unit

The Sandy Springs Police Crime Intelligence Unit is responsible for the identification of crime trends, series, and patterns for the deployment of police resources. The Apartment Safety Checker is also available for all residents.

Georgia Sex Offender Registry

In accordance with O.C.G.A. § 42-1-12, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is the central repository for Georgia’s Violent Sexual Offender Registry.
