The Training and Background Unit. The Training Unit is dedicated to developing the skills, knowledge, and service delivery of sworn and civilian employees. The Background Unit recruits highly qualified, motivated, and hard-working candidates to fulfill the mission of the Sandy Springs Police Department.

RoskindLieutenant David Roskind was one of the original members of the Sandy Springs Police Task Force and the Sandy Springs 911 Task Force. He has served with the Sandy Springs Police Department since its inception in 2006. His 35-year career in law enforcement began with the Atlanta Police Department and the Acworth Police Department. His previous assignments include Administration, Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Traffic Unit, Community Relations, Information Technology, and Internal Affairs. His educational background includes a Master of Public Administration, a graduate of the FBI National Academy #207, Georgia Command College #8, FBI LEEDS, GILEE 16th Delegation, and the Senior Management Institute for Police Session 44. He is a graduate of Leadership Cobb 2006 and Leadership Sandy Springs 2010.

Training

 

Graham J minJames Patrick Graham is the Department Training Officer. Officer Graham began his career as a patrol officer in upstate New York in 1994 before moving to Atlanta. He then worked for the Fulton County Police Department. In 2006 he was one of the original officers that joined the Sandy Springs Police Department. Officer Graham has been assigned to Crime Suppression Team, SWAT, Criminal Intelligence Unit, and the Training Unit. He has been teaching officers since 2005. He holds the General Instructor certificate and specialized certificates in Firearms, Defensive Tactics, and DTO. Officer Graham holds Degrees in Accounting and English Literature.

Background and Recruiting

 

Davis T minOfficer Tiffanye Davis is currently assigned to the Background and Recruitment Unit. Officer Davis started her law enforcement career in 1996 with the Gwinnett County Police Department. She joined Sandy Springs Police Department in 2006 as one of its original officers. During her 26-year career, Officer Davis has been assigned to Uniform Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division.
