All persons employed to dispense, sell, serve, take orders, or mix alcoholic beverages in Sandy Springs are required to hold an Alcohol Pouring Permit. Persons holding managerial positions above those who perform these same activities are also required to hold an Alcohol Pouring Permit.

The cost of the permit is $50, and the permit is valid for one year from the date of receipt. Permits are not transferable between cities or counties.

Pouring permits can be obtained at the Sandy Springs Police Department Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Persons applying for an Alcohol Pouring Permit should make themselves available for photographing, fingerprinting, and other investigation as may be required by the Sandy Springs Police Department.

Alcohol Pouring Permit Disqualifiers

A pouring permit will not be issued if it appears that within a period of five years of the application date, the applicant has been convicted, plead guilty or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony, any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, any sexual-related crime, or any criminal offense relating to alcoholic beverages, controlled substances, taxes, or gambling. A Pouring Permit will not be issued if the applicant has not been released from any parole or probation prior to the filing of the application. This subsection shall apply with respect to the laws of this state, other states, the United States, and other countries. Sentencing as first offender status shall not be considered as a conviction, if the sentence was successfully completed without any violation of probation and with no adjudication of guilt ever being entered.
