The Sandy Springs Police Department's Criminal Intelligence Unit is responsible for the identification of crime trends, series, and patterns for the deployment of resources. The department utilizes data analysis and statistics to identify crime patterns, trends, and hot spots as well as providing link analysis and case assistance for investigations. In addition to in-house statistical analysis, Sandy Springs Police also partners with Crimereports.com for real-time crime analysis information to the public.
Micah Patrick is the Manager of the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) and oversees the day-to-day operations of the CIU, to include managing resources, schedules, and budgetary items. Micah began her career with the City of Sandy Springs in September 2011. Previously, she worked as a Crime Analyst for the Marietta Police Department for nearly six years. Micah graduated from Norwich University in 2010 with a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and holds Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Kennesaw State University. Micah is a graduate of Leadership Sandy Springs - Class of 2019.
