Zgonc KKeith Zgonc is the Deputy Chief of Police. As second in command to Chief of Police Kenneth DeSimone, Deputy Chief Zgonc manages the operations and administrative functions of the department. Deputy Chief Zgonc has served with the Sandy Springs Police since the department’s inception in 2006. As one of the founding members of this highly-regarded public safety department, he was part of a team that established the city's core values of community policing. This effort included enforcing the city’s new ordinances and putting more patrol officers on the streets creating a more visible and accessible police force for the citizens.

His 28-year career in law enforcement began in 1991 with the City of Smyrna Police Department. His assignments have included uniform patrol, community policing, media relations, investigation, training, and communications. Deputy Chief Zgonc is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the FBI National Academy. He currently sits on the Academy’s Georgia Chapter Executive Board.

Chandler CMajor Craig Chandler currently supervises Operations for the Sandy Springs Police Department, which includes Uniform Patrol, Special Operations, SWAT, and Quick Response Force. Major Chandler came to the Sandy Springs Police Department from Kennesaw Police Department where he held the rank of Lieutenant. He has been with Sandy Springs Police Department since July 2006. Major Chandler’s assignments have included Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, District Commander, Special Operations, and Administration/Support. Major Chandler holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University and is a graduate of Leadership Sandy Springs. He is also a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s Administrative Officer’s Course from the University of Louisville.

Mullin J2Major John Mullin currently supervises administrative and support services for the Sandy Springs Police Department.  Major Mullin began his law enforcement career in 1997 with the Fulton County Police Department.  He is a graduate from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He joined the Sandy Springs Police Department in 2006 as one of the original 86 officers. His assignments have included District Commander, the Criminal Investigation Division, Internal Affairs, and Special Operations. Major Mullin obtained his Master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University and is a graduate of Leadership Sandy Springs - Class of 2014.  He also is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville, Kentucky.  He was a member of the 25th GILEE delegation (Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange) to Israel and is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police.
